Despite the shape being similar to Martins, I know there's still a fair amount of variation between brands. I've been dread shopping and I'm quite tempted to pick up a new BR-40AS, but it would have to be mail order unfortunately.

Blueridge measurements? |

Does anyone know where I could find the measurements for a Blueridge dread? Particularly the lower bout and depth?

kydave has done comparison measurement between the BR and his Martins, IIRC. I'm leaving for the weekend to go play a lot of bluegrass, or I'd go
searching for you, but they're on the UBGF, and maybe UMGF somewhere.
You forget it and I'll forget it, but I'll remember it, and don't you forget it!

Definitely a bit smaller at least in body depth compared to a Martin dread. I remember Dave quoting measurements in a thread as well. I'll see what I can
dig up or I'll take a few measurements for you........ I'm sure my BR-60AS would measure the same as a BR-40AS.
I'll take some measurements as I can't find that thread. Kind of like finding a needle in a haystack . Or maybe Dave will chime in .

My D-28 is about 9/32" (1/4"+) deeper than my BR-260.
4.895" vs. 4.602". |

Thanks for the input, Dave........
Measuring the lower bout of my BR60AS I came up with a lower bout maximum width of 15 - 17/32" (just a hair over 15-1/2") across and a lower bout depth of 4-9/16" (just over 4-1/2"). Hope these measurements are helpful..........

I don't know about "helpful". These measurements make the guitar more appealing to me, and I didn't really need that.
