Currently there is a thread by Mac Carter running on the UMGF, dealing with civility in posting. It is pinned on the first page of the D28 Lounge. I suggest all members here go read it. We owe our existence to the UMGF, as this forum is indeed a stepchild of that site, and is here only because of the guidance given to Kevin Enos when he decided to launch the UBGF.
I am honored to have been appointed a Global Moderator on the Unoffocial Blueridge Guitar Forum. I'm an older guy (63 years on April 9th), and I grew up with manners. Maybe it's just that I'm from an older generation that it bothers me to see snotty and snappish posts on this forum, but maybe not. The internet, and forums such as this one, can be a great opportunity to share, learn, grow, and meet - in a distant kind of way - some really neat people. It can also be a swamp or a gutter, where anonymity allows all kinds of affronts and disrespect to be thrown out with impunity. Lets keep this forum safe from such slime, and post from a position of respect and courtesy. We're experiencing growing pains, let's work at making that mean growing up.
