Been talking a bit on other forums, and thought I'd better check in here. I guess nothing has happened to me of note for quite a few months, but I still think fondly of you guys and gals. For all who remember me, everyone in my little world is doing good. Bandit the dog is a year older, and just as wild. My big news is the love of my life, Sarah, has finally convinced me to tie the knot. We plan a simple ceremony tomorrow, 11/25/09 at 2:00 PM CST!

Dave, I'm gonna have a good Italian Creme Cake baked by our wonderful local bakery, by my neighbor, who is a pro pastry chef. Believe me I already know about the expense part. Hopefully the cake will make up for Sarah's expensive tastes. In fact, they aren't really that bad, although I have accused her of putting us in the poorhouse at times. I'm wondering about our good friend Ryan. Anyone make an honest man out of him yet?

Some good words of wisdom there. We are right to advise Ryan about the shoes. Got a package the other day, and it contained two pairs of shoes. I've already had to make room in the closet for more clothes, too. If I weren't a lefty, I'm sure Ryan would pass along one of his sweet Stanfords for a wedding gift. My advice is to make room now. When the right one comes along you'll realize a lot of the stuff you thought was valuable is just junk. Fortunately that doesn't apply to any of my guitars. I must remind everyone and some of the new posters who don't know me that Sarah allowed me to buy my Blueridge when we first got together. If that ain't love, I don't know what is.

A 3 bedroom ranch is barely big enough for me. I'm sure some of the guits will have to go too, unless I get a much bigger house with a large dedicated guitar/ studio room......

During the time I wasn't posting, Sarah and I converted a spare bedroom into a music/computer/TV room. It rocks, but I still don't have enough room. I have an older 2 story house that is medium to small sized. Get many more Stanfords and you'll need a warehouse!

I played the song on my modded lefty BR-40 that I bought a couple of years ago, around the time Sarah and I got together. There are still come cobwebby posts around here detailing my struggles with that. We were practicing singing together, but we both had the flu in October, and we haven't been able to stop coughing yet. My Blueridge has settled in nicely, and I've been trying different strings. Like Dave, I've decided it likes the Elixir Nanos best. They might be a bit bright, but I think they'll be great for recording. Wanted to like the Cleartone strings that I have on now, but they don't inspire me very much. Still like the Red Bear picks, but I had one completely shatter for some reason, and I was taking pretty good care of it. I just sweat all over my picks sometimes. I notice Red Bear is making a composite pick that is more durable and less expensive than their cultured tortoise ones, and I might try a couple of those.
