The pickin' is sloppy and the finger pickin' worse, but at least you can hear a little bit of the new Tyminski.

I love that finger picking stuff you start out with. Hell, I love all of your playing! What are you doing on that initial finger picking part of the clip, if you
don't mind me asking? Any chance you would make up a little video of that with the new guitar? Another chance to show 'er off.........Hint hint

OK, the original ebony is an interesting touch, but I kinda like white dotted pins on my D-28... Jon sent them along with my K&K, which will probably go in
sometime this week. Played a couple times over the Thanksgiving weekend and it just gets better!!!

I recently got a couple of those JJB pickups (same idea as K&K) in a trade deal and hope to install one soon as well. I'll probably post some "plugged-in" clips when I do. Good luck installing. |

Thanks Ryan, After 5 successful installs, I screwed up a little. Murphy's Law - the most expensive guitar I've ever owned and that's the one to make a mistake on! LOL! I got the hard part done, and very carefully by drilling in stages AND using a reamer made a perfect hole for the jack with no finish chipping around the edges at all. Then I installed the contacts and at first glance looked like a nice clean installation... Strung it back up and plugged it in and had a weak low E string. ARGHHH! Then I bent the contact a little in removing it so I could reposition it and knocked loose a solder joint. Bummer! I've completely uninstalled 2 sets of these successfully in the past with no incident. Like I said - Murphy's Law! LOL! I emailed Dieter at K&K and he is mailing me a new contact free without me even asking. This company has always been helpful with answering questions and giving advice and I can't say enough good about them! Sound clips soon! Dave |

Been there done that kind of thing too, Dave. If you do enough installations it's bound to happen despite the fact that we generally get better at it
overall with the practice and experience. Very cool that they're taking care of you on this. I just might get one of my installations done tonite as well
hopefully. Glad to hear it wasn't your endpin hole (reaming/ drilling) that went astray. That would really suck! Only messed 1 of those up once and it was
on a Washburn "beater" fortunately......Whew!

Sorry to hear about your "mishap" Dave! I have also installed about 5-6 of these K & K's, and have been fortunate that they have all gone
pretty well for the most part. However, I have had some trouble with drilling the endpin hole, and have chipped a little wood around the hole on one or two
guitars before. Nothing that wasn't able to be fixed though with a little glue with no residual ugly scar thankfully. I have been fortunate with getting
the "pods" mounted close enough to sound okay with no high or low spots. You're right though, these things can be remounted again if they
aren't in the right spot, with a little care when taking them off that a chunk of wood from the bridgeplate doesn't come off with it. It hasn't
happened so far....
