what serial number did you get? Good way to see how many there are out now. Are you going to take off the pick guard? I may do that & leave it with nothing, but it does not look bad the way it is. Do tops with poly finish darken the same way to leave a shadow of pick guard if I decide at later date to take off?
I think i got a good one, and hope it improves with age. The bracing seems a bit on the heavy side, especially the back braces, and I am wondering if it will break in as well as a guitar with not as heavy bracing. Finish seems o.k., could be thinner, but not bad. Tone seems to be good, bass is there, but could be better. Sustain is good, no dead spots. I did not have to mess with the nut, looks good. Frets are good too. Only thing i did was turn rod to get relief out of neck, and sand down bone saddle a touch off the bottom.
I am running Martin Marquis light 80/20 Bronze, and may try phos. Bronze next.
I've noticed a round spot (several of them) under the finish. If i look at it in the sun, some cloudy spots are evident on the back. Still looks like nice wood on back though. All in all, a very nice guitar for price paid.
Never would have gotten this price/quality 5-10 yrs. ago.

. That said I would try out one of the SC dreads if I
needed a cheap solid wood guitar. Alas I have more import guitars than I should own already
. Enjoy that new git! Oh, and welcome to the forum............
