I've always had trouble on my Sigma 12 String with the pins popping up when I put new strings on. As I tighten the strings, the pins just slowly pop-up.
So, I wrap a little piece of paper around most of the pin, to make the fit, tighter. Might that mean I need new pins, or a new bridge? Well, I just got a
used BR 180A, and put new string on that, and the exact same thing happened, so I slipped on little pieces of paper, and, problem fixed. Any other
suggestions?
Another subject, with the new strings on the BR 180A, I've noticed a slight, but very bothersome vibration, it appears the 3rd, 4th, and 5th strings are barely hitting the 1st fret, when playing those strings open only. I've read in this forum from Dave I think, that BR guitars have higher frets than most guitars. If I like the action as it is, it would appear I should have that first fret ground down a little. Could that cause any new problems? Might I do that myself? Any comments, feedback, suggestions?
