The BR 70CE has laminate rosewood sides and back, but if you would do a thorough research on this forum, you would find that the BR 70 (or 70 CE) tonal quality, in the opinions of most players in general, is equal to more expensive guitars with sold rosewood sides and back. I support that statement. I've just brought home a Blueridge BR 60 Sunburst from a friend at church, I'm going to play it a couple days to see if I want to buy it, it has laminate rosewood backs and sides, and wow, a great sounding guitar. I think there are 2 major reasons Blueridge guitars are getting so much attention. The first is that all of their guitars are tone powerhouses that compare quite well with guitars costing 2 to 2 1/2 times as much. The second reason is that the Blueridge laminate guitars (very affordable for the large market of buyers on a budget) are also tone powerhouses, which can hold there own against many solid wood guitars. I had never heard of Blueridge when I first picked up a BR 70 and was extremely impressed, most importantly it was so fun and easy to play, I actually did not want to put it down, and that was before I knew it was a laminate, and then when I learned what the price was, I was on the road to becoming a BR fan. Also, do a research on this forum, looking at the model of guitars all these guys have. You will see some folks who own very expensive guitars, Martin, Collings, who also own some of the Blueridge laminates. BR 70, BR 70CE, BR 70AS Sunburst, I propose are the best value guitars, that is the tone quality per dollar, on the planet. Well, I guess I should add IMO.
