Will keep my eye on the Yamaha. I see it is a distcontinued model here in the US. At the price it might be just right...great sound, yet low cost enough for hard playing and not a big dent in the account... Also, the descriptions I read had the sides as lam and didn't mention the bracing as scalloped.
