It seems that I'm getting notifications for any thread I start or post on suddenly. Is this happening to everyone??? Another annoying YUKU Glitch apparently . I already get enough junk in my emails.

I see that I have a message waiting for me at the top of the page but when I click on it there is nothing there. Does this have anything to do with the recent upgrade?

Well, It's been 1 year, 865 posts, and 3 new guitars since I stumbled across the UBRGF!!

Just wanted to say thanks to Bob Fears, Dave, Ryan; and all the members here for a great year of information, humor, and camaraderie.

Looking forward to year TWO!!!

Can't insert pics

Is it just me? The insert commands: insert image, insert image from photobucket, insert smileys, and insert flash all seem to be non-functional when creating a posting. All the other stuff seems to work.

Can anybody tell me what the restrictions are on posting in the for sale ot trade section of the forum. I was going to post on a guitar that is in the local paper that looked like it might be a good deal for someone but I am not allowed to post in that section. I don't do a lot of posting. I just mostly like to read whats going on with other people and and love anything connected to acoustic guitars. Thanks

Keeping posts on track?

I've noticed in the last couple of months that many threads on the UBGF tend to drift pretty far afield from the topic posed by the Original Poster. I've generally kept to myself and not intervened, but I'm wondering in general how the OPs feel about this. This isn't the AGF or UMGF, just an average size message board, so I don't want to discourage members from posting, as it's always fun to see new posts/topics every day. It's also great to see new names pop up, and am curious as to whether we lose new people due to frustration at their threads going off track. Any comments or input?

New Forum Section?

To be fair to all the importers, manufacturers and dealers maybe we should rename the current Recording King section. There's no reason one should have preference over any of the others. I think they all should declare who and what they are as well, with their real names and real contact info.

One of the nice things, the classy things, I like about the UMGF is that most of the folks "in the business" are decent enough to leave off their business names in their tag lines and nics. They contribute to the group as fellow members, first and foremost and they limit their business to the appropriate section. If people want to pursue a relationship with them all they have to do is check their profile for contact info. I'd like to see the same thing here.

When i first posted about being a dealer in the recording king discussion board i received this email from dmcowles..

"David, welcome to our forum. If you'd like to make yourself known as a dealer of import guitars, why don't you post a "dealer" identified thread in the "Sale & Trade" section for one or two guitars that you carry. Let our members know who you are right up front, rather than making references to lines you are going to carry. We're happy to let you have some visibility here if you do it according to our guidelines. The more retailers we have here letting the membership know what's available, the better, but we're not an advertising site. You're definitely welcome here.

I then went over to the guitar sell discussion site and he told me to.. I posted my contact information as you requested..I was upfront right from the start.... After poosting i carried the AD-80 ARIA a few days...

New chatroom

If some of you want to "arrange" a time to be available in chat, post it here. My own approach is to look first at the "Who's chatting" area of the Chatroom section at the top of the forums. That tells me if someone is in chat, and I can log on, or not. I try to be in the chatroom periodically during the daytime hours when I'm online. I usually am offline after 8PM EST, being a "seasoned citizen" who goes to bed early most nights.

Previous chat conversations (or entries) stay posted in chat for a while....

The ezboard format will be changed to yuku sometime this week. If you'd like to see what that looks like, go to the Bluegrass Forum and check it out. It's actually a pretty user-friendly format for message boards.

I don't drop by that often so when I do I have to Google "unofficial Blueridge Guitar Forum" and I don't get a direct link. I have to come in the long way around the barn through a guitar site on hobgoblin.com.

It would seem that if there was a more direct link when someone searched "Blueridge forum" or something that there would be more visitors.

Admin should look into that.

I have a question that's been bothering me for quite awhile. A good 4-5 months ago I made a donation to this forum for selling a guitar. Somewhere between 8- 11.00 dollars, my Pay Pal would clarify. It seems like the donated amount never showed up in the "chest," and it seems like the amount is still unchanged since.

Suggesting a "Vintage" Catagory. What do you think

Alot of folks have older instruments, whether it be a guitar, mandolin, banjo, etc... they have very little information about it. I think it would be a good idea to have a Vintage catagory for people to ask questions, get answers, or just to share their vintage instrument with us.

What do you think?

I'm thinking about a person-to-person section like UMGF has, where members can post directly to other members. Perhaps a place where cameraderie and levity might expand, or more personal online relationships could evolve? Thoughts or feedback?

creating a new section

Here's an idea. Maybe good, maybe bad.

I think the Martin vs. BR topic is pretty much beaten down. (even though I just put one up). As a recognition that BR is pretty much in the same league as the big boys and that this is nearly a settled issue, maybe this topic can be taken off the mainline forum section and made a section of it's own. That may also help return more civility to the mainline section.

You should update the introduction page to reflect new mod changes (ie dmcowles, ketchbob, etc...)
haven't heard from blueridgeguy for awhile or for that matter Hamlet962 ...
